Roseburg Basketball Club (RBC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit giving Roseburg-area girls and boys in 4th through 8th grade the chance to play competitive basketball around Oregon. Our mission is to include youth from all socioeconomic backgrounds and help develop the next generation of community leaders.

RBC exists to develop future Roseburg High School players. Players who live in the Roseburg School District and plan to play at RHS get first priority. The Board may fill any remaining roster spots with players from outside the district on a case-by-case basis.

  • $3002026–27 participation fee

The participation fee covers tournament fees, equipment and gear, and a shooting shirt players keep; the uniform is theirs to keep too. Travel, lodging, and similar costs are the family's responsibility.

Financial assistance may be available. Families of selected players can email info@roseburgbasketballclub.org.

Seasons are scheduled to avoid conflicts with school basketball.

7th–8th Girls
Early November – early March, lighter in Jan & Feb

All games are expected to be in Oregon, roughly between Salem and Medford, at a mix of single-day and multi-day tournaments. In January 2027, RBC hosts the Timber Town Classic in Roseburg again.

Teams practice two to three evenings a week at Roseburg schools. Coaches share practice schedules once rosters are set.

RBC follows USA Basketball standards:

  • 4th–6th grade: equal playing time in quarters 1–3; coaches decide minutes for the 4th quarter and overtime.
  • 7th–8th grade: every player plays; coaches decide how much.

Minutes can reflect skill, effort, attitude, attendance, and team needs. Coaches aim to give everyone meaningful time while balancing development and competition.

Defense follows Oregon Amateur Basketball and USA Basketball standards. 4th–6th grade teams play man-to-man only; 7th–8th grade teams build on man-to-man and may use zones that align with Roseburg High School programs.

Offense starts with motion-offense fundamentals at younger ages. Set plays and more complex schemes are layered in gradually and kept age-appropriate.
